FFHS Community Values

Crafted from the collaborative input of students and staff, Food and Finance High School has identified four core pillars to define the way we treat each other and our community everyday: RESPECT, OWNERSHIP, JOY, and PRIDE. Embedded in these pillars are values we strive to embody such that our community is a thriving environment for all.

RESPECT

Respect is the foundation of our community for all students and staff. It means honoring the differences among individuals, valuing diverse perspectives, and treating everyone with kindness, courtesy, and consideration. When respect is upheld, students feel safe to express themselves authentically, knowing that their ideas and identities are acknowledged and appreciated inside and outside of the classroom. Respect fosters an environment where mutual understanding thrives, conflicts are resolved restoratively, and all relationships are built on dignity, trust, and empathy.

OWNERSHIP

Students and staff at FFHS are the caretakers of their community. This means that every member of our school takes responsibility for the health and wellbeing of our shared environment, and holds themselves accountable for the way they impact those around them. Embracing ownership means engaging in the life of the school, contributing to positive culture, and celebrating our collective achievements. At the same time, we recognize our own fallibility, move with humility, and practice forgiveness when mistakes or harm occur.

JOY

Joy means nurturing a supportive and vibrant atmosphere where curiosity is sparked, creativity is embraced, and each day is infused with moments of happiness, inspiration, and gratitude. It is found in the laughter shared between friends, the excitement of learning something new, and the triumph of overcoming obstacles. Joy reminds us that going to school is not just about academic achievement but also about forming fulfilling relationships and creating long lasting memories.

PRIDE

At FFHS, we define Pride as the passion and dedication that fuels our personal growth as well as the growth and wellbeing of our community. Pride inspires our students to take risks and embrace opportunities while showcasing their unique talents and traits. Pride also inspires our community members to lend a helping hand and challenge one another in pursuit of academic and culinary excellence. Ultimately, pride motivates us to uphold all of our school’s values, knowing that our actions today build towards the ever growing legacy of Food and Finance High School.
